USA’s National Parks Turn 100: Celebrate on Aurora Expeditions’ Alaskan Wilderness Adventure!
Story by Aurora Expeditions
Aurora Expeditions has released a brand new Alaskan ‘Fly & Cruise’ package for travellers to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the incredible US National Parks Service. Alaska is home to some of the largest wilderness regions in North America, and what better way to celebrate than on an intrepid floating basecamp through Alaska’s spectacular Inside Passage.
Sailing aboard Aurora Expeditions’ 60-passenger expedition ship Wilderness Adventurer, travellers will embark on a scenic journey through one of North America's wildest states. Enjoying Alaska’s remote national forests such as Tongass and Misty Fjords, travellers will have a front row seat as they carve a route through glassy waterways lined with magnificent glaciers and mystical fjords.
Each day offers exciting new adventures. Hop in a Zodiac to cruise past spectacular landscapes or explore the enchanted forests on foot with expert guides; always keeping watch for moose, mountain goats, the majestic bald eagle and more. For water lovers, sea kayak amongst spirited porpoises and snorkel icy waters for an up-close look at Alaska's underwater life. The observation decks of the Wilderness Adventurer offer the most comfortable perspective, and a great way to snap that picture of a breaching whale or a hunting bear.
As an added bonus, travellers will also have the opportunity to complement their adventure with an exciting brown bear experience. Travellers can join a specially-chartered water plane to Pack Creek on Admiralty Island, an important bear sanctuary that is home to the highest density of brown bears in North America. A wilderness guide will take small groups of 10 to see bears in their natural habitat; playing, eating clams and perhaps even showing off new cubs. The full-day Pack Creek bear flight starts from $1,190 per person.
The new Alaska ‘Fly & Cruise’ package features Aurora Expeditions’ 12-day cruise through the scenic wilderness of Alaska's Inside Passage, as well as return international flights, one night accommodation in both Seattle and Juneau, airport transfers and more. The package departs 19 May 2016 and prices start from $11,395 per person.
SPECIAL OFFER: For ‘Fly & Cruise’ package bookings made before 31 March 2016, travellers will receive a free city stopover in Los Angeles or San Francisco, including two-nights in a 4-star hotel, city sightseeing tour and airport transfers. Conditions apply.
