The 3rd Edition of the Madrid-Lisbon Mountain Bike Challenge Will Go on June 2014 - 1200km and 28000m+ of Pure Adventure!

A challenge, a traverse, an adventure. Two countries, two capitals and 15 mountains between the two! 14 days in the mountains and one by the sea!
Imagine biking from Madrid to Lisbon in 15 days, finishing at Cabo da Roca Cape - the westernmost point of Europe; 800 miles of off-road across forest tracks, gravel roads and incredible single tracks over the highest slopes across the Iberian Peninsula until reaching the Atlantic Ocean.
The Iberian Peninsula is one of Europe best locations to go Mountain Biking. With its best secrets still to be found, spectacular natural tracks that go on for miles, and mild weather unlike no other place in Europe this is a scenic ride equal to none. This route is excellent in terms of diversity of trails and beautiful landscapes with mountain range scenery. As it crosses the interior of Spain and Portugal, it is very rich in historic sites. Riders will also discover a rich cuisine and comfortable accommodation.
The organization will handle everything for cyclists during the 15 days of crossing:
- 1200km Guided tour or GPS Guided Tour
- Accommodation in quality Hotels and Inns
- All meals (dinner, buffet lunch en route and breakfast)
- Luggage Transfers
- Transfers from the airport to the beginning and end to airport
- Bike Mechanical assistance and spare bike
The tour is organized by “Caminhos da Natureza” / Portugal Nature Trails and is supported by the Tourist Boards of Portugal, the Central and Western Regions of Portugal and by the Tourist Board of Extremadura in Spain as well the companies TREK, Fox, Shimano, MET, MIO, PRO, Hutchison, Michelin, Zip-Vit and Tangerina Bike.
