Nepal is regaining momentum since the devastating earthquake April 25th and subsequent numerous aftershocks. We are happy that all our Dharma staff members are safe although some staff have incurred structural damages to their personal properties. Dharma Adventures provided numerous tents, tarpaulin sheets, tin sheets, medicines, water purifiers to employees, their families and friends.
The Dharma office in Kathmandu has been relocated to a safer location and operations are back to normal. Dharma offices in Bhutan and Tibet have been, and are functioning as usual.
After evaluating the current situation of Nepal, the Tourism Recovery Committee (TRC) formed by the Nepal Association of Tour Operators (NATO) has conducted numerous field visits in, and outside the Kathmandu valley and submitted a list of accessible sights. (below)
Dharma Adventures will resume operating trips in September 2015 without compromising the quality of their exceptional services or lodging options for guests.
Dharma Adventures’ social profit organization, Dharma Karma Society, has been actively involved in providing relief to the earthquake victims. Pawan Tuladhar, President & CEO of Dharma Adventures and member of the Rotary Club of Kantipur, made a relief journey to Melamchi, a village in Sindhupalchowk District, one of the worst earthquake affected areas of Nepal. There he distributed a week’s supply of rice, lentils, oil, salt, washing and bathing soaps, turmeric, tealeaves and sugar to 250 families.
