Authentic Story-based Film “Salkantay Trek” Awarded First Place in Adventure Travel Trade Association’s 2016 “Adventure in Motion” Global Film Contest
GLP Films (GLP), an award-winning content marketing agency specializing in travel trade storytelling and marketing, and Mountain Lodges of Peru, a leading family-owned adventure travel company, won first place in the 2016 Adventure in Motion film contest at the Adventure Travel World Summit (ATWS). The Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA)’s 3rd Annual “Adventure in Motion” film contest has become an acclaimed contest of the adventure travel industry, garnering 126 film submissions from leading global travel brands. GLP Films and Mountain Lodges of Peru’s collaborative short film, “Salkantay Inca Trail: The Ultimate Trek to Machu Picchu,” was showcased as one of three finalists, and was ultimately awarded first place through a live vote by over 850 travel trade industry professionals at ATWS.
GLP Films produced the winning film in partnership with Mountain Lodges of Peru, to support a strategic marketing campaign for the adventure operator’s signature Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu. Following a successful targeted marketing campaign with major media pickups from National Geographic, Travel + Leisure and many others, the film was submitted to the ATTA’s film contest. The character and story-based film follows veteran adventure guide Dalmiro Portillo on the seven-day lodge-to-lodge Salkantay Trek, inspiring a spiritual connection with the sacred mountains (apus) and mother earth (Pachamama).
As the winner for the 2016 “Adventure in Motion” film contest, “Salkantay Inca Trail: The Ultimate Trek to Machu Picchu” will appear on AFAR.com and continue to receive exposure from industry partners and the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA).
Congratulations to our friends of Mountain Lodges of Peru!
