The Stunning Scenery of Patagonia

Go way south to really, really get away this winter.

As the North American winter arrives, adventure travel heats up in southern South America. JOURNEYS International is leading five new trips featuring the culture, wildlife, and spectacular scenery of Chile and Argentina. The southern extremes of Patagonia invite hikers, photographers and wildlife enthusiasts to explore some of the most exotic and scenic environments in the American Southern Hemisphere and these adventures go beyond the cities and usual tourist features.

"We've created engaging options for different interests. Each of these trips exhibits environmental diversity with expert local leadership and interpretation," says Robin Weber Pollak, president of Journeys.  "If you've ever had a dream of exploring Patagonia, one of these programs is the perfect invitation."

The trips range from 8 to 16 days and vary in activity level with land cost from $3250. All trips encompass features of Patagonia and the southern Andes, and each uniquely includes distinctive terrain like the Atacama Desert, Torres del Paine, Iguazu Falls, or Tierra del Fuego and the Beagle Channel.

Peak travel season in Patagonia spans from September to April.  Most of the itineraries can be customized around travelers' preferred dates. A special December 27th departure of physically adventurous Patagonia Peaks, Plateaus and Glaciers celebrates the New Year at the southern tip of the Andes. The eight-day Highlights of Patagonia is a less demanding trip featuring Buenos Aires, Tierra Del Fuego, and the spectacular Andes wildlife and terrain in between.

More details of all of the trips can be found in the Chile and Argentina sections of the Journeys website, and by calling or emailing Journeys.
