20 tours in the new Jane Goodall Collection by G Adventures highlight the importance of wildlife-friendly travel
Toronto, Canada (September 28, 2016) -- At an event last night in Toronto, Canada on World Tourism Day, G Adventures founder Bruce Poon Tip announced to a crowd of more than 700 guests his company’s new partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute. Through this collaboration, G Adventures hopes to raise awareness of the importance of wildlife-friendly tourism, curating a program of 20 trips that have a special emphasis on wildlife to form the Jane Goodall Collection by G Adventures.
All trips in the collection, which come from G Adventures’ line of tours, are endorsed by renowned primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall, whose Jane Goodall Institute protects endangered species through conservation strategies that incorporate the needs of local communities, with the understanding that helping people saves wildlife.
Dr. Goodall has also given her formal support to the G Adventures' Animal Welfare Policy, which was introduced in 2015 and covers the small group tour operator’s nearly 700 trips around the globe, ensuring the protection of all animals when traveling.

Social enterprise leader and business owner Bruce Poon Tip, who also founded the nonprofit Planeterra Foundation in 2003, explained that his first meeting with Dr. Goodall was the chance to meet a personal hero.
“It’s an honor to work with Dr. Jane Goodall, but more importantly to continue her legacy by helping raise awareness of her work with our travelers. She has been an inspiration for me since starting G Adventures 26 years ago,” he said. “As a social enterprise we are well known for our work with people and local communities in the places we visit. As the United Nations prepares to welcome 2017 as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, my team and I also wanted to highlight the work we are doing to protect the animals with whom we share our planet.”
With the launch of the new partnership and collection of tours, G Adventures will be helping raise awareness for the Jane Goodall Institute, which supports research into the behavior of wild chimpanzees and community-based conservation programs that protect chimpanzees and their forest environment.
