Whale Watching
From December through March Baja is a prime destination for seeing gray whales. Traveling 10,000 miles between their arctic feeding grounds and the warm waters of Mexico means gray whales have the longest migratory route of any mammal. Hop on a boat or watch them from your ocean view veranda... these majestic beauties never disappoint.
Sea Turtle Release
Baby sea turtles may be on the other end of the size spectrum from gray whales, but the spectacle of hatchlings crawling towards the ocean for the first time is no less magical. From August through December you could be there to make sure they make it safely. Five species of sea turtle inhabit the Baja peninsula, a vital feeding area. Nearly all sea turtles are classified as endangered, so you won’t just be bearing witness to an ecological miracle — you’ll be making a small contribution to the environmental stewardship of the region.
Snorkeling
