Receive an Additional $250 per Person in Savings If Combined with Machu Picchu Land Tour

Small ship cruise expert AdventureSmith Explorations offers a $250 per person savings on its most affordable Peruvian Amazon cruise plus an additional $250 off if combined with a Machu Picchu land tour.

The already value-driven nine-day Amatista Amazon Cruise from $2,499 per person, double, has been enhanced this year by lengthening the trip to nine days and offering more departures and a better streamlined experience. This longer, more in-depth itinerary spends more time in Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve and adds value with included flights and accommodation in Lima. This cruise program can easily be combined with the five-day Machu Picchu Explorer from $1,395 per person, double, for additional savings. This dual $250-off promotion applies to any departure from Sept. 15, 2015, through July 31, 2016. Trips must be booked by Dec. 15, 2015.

Lima is the gathering place for both tours. Cruise-bound guests take a private transfer to Iquitos to a visit a nearby Amazonian Manatee Rescue Center before boarding the 30-guest Amatistain Nauta to explore the Amazon and some of its tributaries. An Amazon Reserve naturalist guide leads daily excursions by motorized skiff along the rainforest shore where, with luck, sloths, toucans and pink dolphins lurk.

Two days are spent in Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve, one of the last accessible tropical rainforest in the world. Some 200 bird and 10 primate species have been spotted here. Two thirds of the world’s plants and animal species make their home on the reserve’s 2.08 million hectares, representing 1.5 percent of Peru’s total land and its largest protected natural area. The vessel, built with traditional riverboat lines, offers the comforts of air conditioning and private bathrooms. Guests on one excursion dine with an Indian family and on another they ride in a dugout canoe. Before the cruise ends, guests pay a visit to the jungle town of Nauta where the Ucayali and the Marañon — the major headstreams of the Amazon — join together. A privately guided, independent land tour extension begins in Cusco where guests explore the Sacred Urubamba Valley including Pisac and Ollantaytambo before proceeding by rail to the citadel of Machu Picchu for a full-day guided tour here and an overnight at the famous Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Inn. This Peru tour can be customized to include other regions such as Lake Titicaca and the Inca Trail Trek. See: https://www.adventuresmithexplorations.com/machu-picchu-explorer
