Remarkable Stone Walls Carefully Cut to Fit Together. Sacsayhuaman - Cusco

This massive, stone fortress just north of central Cusco was built by the Killkup people in approximately 900 AD, greatly expanded by the Incas and pillaged by the Spanish. At an altitude of over 12,000 feet, the fortress has a sweeping view of the surrounding area. Most impressive, however, are the huge walls made from the precise stacking of boulders.
